Fuels: Very hot and windy conditions over the last several days have rapidly dried out the landscape with ERCs now up to the 50th %tile. Still, GSI remains high across much of the state with only areas able to effectively carry fire being cool season grasses that have cured out. These will be limited to wheat fields mostly and the landscape will be broken outside of these areas. As a result, fire suppression should be relatively successful, especially given the decrease in wind compared to previous days. Additional drying will be needed to increase fire concerns more and periods of precipitation should improve the landscape some over the period.
